Mushroomhead is an eight person metal band from Cleveland, formed in 1993. Their music can be described as a blend of nu-metal, industrial and hardcore, with some hip-hop and dub influences. The band members characterize themselves by wearing masks on stage (except for singers Waylon and Jeffrey Nothing), which occasionally results to accusations for "jumping on the bandwagon" of Slipknot, but the band members insist that they were the first to use this gimmick as is. Many fans of this band say that Slipknot copied Mushroomhead, and vice versa.
With the recent departure of singer J Mann, Mushroomhead picked up singer Waylon Reavis. Mushroomhead is currently touring and will be releasing their first DVD in July. Mushroomhead is set to release a new album at the end of 2005.
