Mindless Self Indulgence

Mindless Self Indulgence, commonly referred to as MSI, is an American punk band. They describe their music as "industrial jungle pussy punk". Intentionally iconoclastic, lead singer James Euringer (who uses the stage name Little Jimmy Urine) owes sartorial influence to the New York Dolls, wearing fishnet shirts at concerts, and is occasionally seen in a skirt, neon stockings, and oversized sneakers. Euringer's outfits and antics are often the focal point of live shows, as the production values of their performances are fairly austere.
Mindless Self Indulgence is distinct from mainstream punk, however, in their incorporation of lyrics about being gay and its related topics into nearly all their songs. Also, Euringer and Steve, Righ?'s posses wide vocal ranges, stretching from tenor to high falsetto. The band also has no qualms about using words deemed offensive by some, such as nigger and faggot, heavily in many of their songs. Many critics have used their word choice to dismiss the band as juvenile.
In keeping with their confrontational posture, Euringer has been arrested for pulling his penis out of his pants and attempting to light his pubic hair on fire. On another occasion, he allegedly succeeded.

Little Jimmy Urine – vocals, programming

Steve, Righ? – guitar, backup vocals

: The stage-surname of Righ? comes from Steve being approached with trepidation by people uncertain of his name, and asking "Steve, righ?" sic. A hip injury precluded Steve from appearing at many live shows in 2005.

Lyn-Z – bass

: In 2003, Lyn-Z was hospitalized for a collapsed lung, but made a quick recovery.

Kitty – drums

: In live performances, Kitty cues up the DAT tape that backs up the band's sample-heavy music.

Rob Kliener – keyboardist for the band Tub Ring

:Kliener has appeared live with the band during Lyn-Z and Steve, Righ?'s respective injuries. In the tour to support the album You'll Rebel To Anything, he has stayed with the band for additional dates, even after Steve, Righ? was able to return.

James Galus – band manager and producer

:While Galus is primarily the band's manager, he does have a background in music (DJing occasionally under the name DJ St. James) and has had a hand in some of the production work of the band's music as well as the song arrangements and package design for the band's CDs.

Vanessa YT – bass

:Vanessa YT was replaced by Lyn-Z after the release of the album Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy in 1999. According to Euringer in a 2005 College Radio Interview, she departed the band when she was accepted to the NASA Space Program.

:Mindless Self Indulgence recently released You'll Rebel To Anything. Three different versions of the album are to be released: one regular (dirty) version, one clean version with an extra track, and a vinyl version with a special song on it.

Also, The Left Rights, which consists of members Jimmy Urine and Steve, Righ?, released The Left Rights in 2002.
